The Dodson Group

The Dodson GroupRonald G. Dodson was contracted by America Online (AOL) in 1993 to become the Golf and Environment Editor. Ron created The Dodson Group, LLC. as a company through which to conduct this work. In addition to his work with AOL, other writing opportunities focused on environmental conservation oriented articles for several high profile publications came about, as well as various consulting requests from a variety of companies. The Dodson Group, LLC has been offering sustainability and environmental consulting services ever since, and has built a reputation as a pioneer in the field of sustainability.

For nearly 20 years Ron Dodson and a highly skilled team of affiliated professionals have worked with thousands of individuals and hundreds of companies, universities, governmental entities and not-for-profit organizations on a global basis, offering sustainability and environmental consulting services and training.

In addition, The Dodson Group served as an environmental consultant to members of Audubon International’s Gold, Silver, and Classic Signature Programs over that time through a partnership with Audubon International’s Environmental Planning Department which later spun off and established itself as an independent consulting firm. Through this partnership and beyond, the Dodson Group has and continues to offer services to Audubon International’s program members including: training, site evaluation, sustainability coaching, certification assistance, land planning and land management.

Since 1993, The Dodson Group has provided professional consulting services for over 200 clients located around the globe, in all 50 US States, and in every Canadian Province.

The entire Dodson Family has made considerable financial contributions to causes world-wide to promote environmental conservation and foster sustainability education. Ron and Eric Dodson in particular have served in voluntary capacities for numerous organizations, and presently serve on a number of boards, and committees for several not-for-profit organizations. In addition to Ron’s consulting and writing work, he also re-started The Audubon Society of New York State, (ASNY) in 1987 which was one of the original Audubon Society’s in the United States, originally founded in 1897. ASNY began operating as Audubon International in the early 1990’s and via Audubon International Ron created the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System and programs for golf courses, businesses, schools, communities and backyards. In addition he created the Audubon Signature Program for planned new developments. Through this not-for-profit organization Dodson has created internationally recognized and award winning environmental education programs that focus on wildlife and water conservation.

A Coalition for Good - Spreading the Seeds of Sustainability

ISC-Audubon is a coalition of non-profit organizations and initiatives that include The International Sustainability Council (ISC), Audubon Lifestyles, Audubon Outdoors, Planit Green, Broadcast Audubon, and the Audubon Network for Sustainability. 

Funds generated through memberships and donations are used to provide fruit & vegetable seeds, wildflower seed mix, and wildlife feed & birdseed to urban and suburban communities around the world. These seeds are used by communities to establish fruit and vegetable gardens, bird and wildlife sanctuaries, and for the beautification of urban and suburban landscapes by creating flower and native plant gardens.
