Sustainable Golf Facility-Programming & Certification Service

Sustainability seems to be the latest buzz word that people and businesses are focused on.  Sustainability is the blending of economic viability, environmental stewardship and social improvement.  Quite a laudable and complicated goal to aspire too – and quite frankly overwhelming to most.

The question     : “How do you go about achieving sustainability on a golf course?”

The answer        : “It’s now easy. Allow ISC-Audubon to help you do it.”

ISC-Audubon is chaired by conservationist and wildlife biologist Ronald G. Dodson who created Audubon International’s Cooperative DSC5049Sanctuary Programs and the Audubon Signature Programs 25 years ago.  In addition, to serving as Chairman of the International Sustainability Council (ISC), he is the author of two acclaimed books on golf and sustainability. ISC-Audubon has created the trademarked Sustainable Golf Facility ProgramTM. Ron will personally visit your golf club facility and assist club leadership in developing a tailor-made sustainable golf facility program for your club and prepare and submit all documentation necessary to achieve the designation of Certified Sustainable Golf Facility.

ISC-Audubon is now offering Sustainable Golf Facility - Programming & Certification Assistance to any golf club facility that seeks to gain recognition as a Certified Sustainable Golf Facility.  Quite simply this service is aimed at creating a personalized sustainability management program for golf club facilities, delivering education/training services to help implement the program and to deliver the desired certification submittals that are required to achieve and maintain the certification designations now in the marketplace. The Sustainable Golf Facility ProgramTM is the next logical step beyond existing golf and environment certification programs.  Gain credit for what has already been accomplished and let ISC-Audubon help develop a Sustainable Golf Facility Management Program specific to your facility.

Sustainability programming can simply be overwhelming to the busy golf facility manager.  ISC-Audubon can take the worry and stress out of this effort for you and your management team.  We know what we are talking about, and have decades of experience to deliver, because quite frankly, the leadership of ISC-Audubon have created nearly every credible golf and environment, and sustainable golf program in existence today!

We’ve made this easy for you, and we’ve made it affordable.  $2,500 + travel expenses for an 18 hole golf facility. We will prepare a private Sustainability Assessment for your facility, which is a valuable planning document by itself, but it also serves as the basis to determine if the golf facility’s is ready for certification, or not.  Included in the fee is registration as an ISC-Audubon Platinum Member.

“There is no one size fits all approach to sustainability. Each program must be place-based, but formed on the basis of the principles of sustainability that clearly is aimed at economic viability as the foundation for addressing the environmental improvement and social betterment aspects of sustainability.” Ronald G. Dodson

ISC Sustainability Campaign

The ISC is a non-profit coalition of thought-leaders dedicated to advancing understanding of the relationships among ecological, social and economic systems for the mutual benefit of people and the environment. Using the ISC Principles of Sust

ainability as a basis, the ISC has organized and launched the Sustainability Campaign.

Green Earth

The Campaign is aimed at forging partnerships with businesses, universities, governments and not-for-profits, encouraging the adoption of the ISC Principles of Sustainability through the creation of Charters of Sustainability and to publicly recognize sustainable based actions taken as part of the implementation of those Sustainability Charters.

The ISC Sustainability Campaign is focused on 10 broad goals which are:

1)   Health and the environment
2)   Economic prosperity
3)   Social improvement and equity
4)   Conservation of nature
5)   Stewardship
6)   Sustainable communities
7)   Civic engagement
8)   Population issues
9)   International responsibility
10) Education

The ISC believes that in order to achieve the vision associated with a more sustainable society, some things must grow – jobs, productivity, efficiency, wages, capital and savings, profits, information, knowledge and education – and others – pollution, waste and poverty – must not.
