Golf Preserves

The purpose of Golfpreserves® is to create a self-sustaining funding mechanism for the environmental stewardship of golf course facilities.

The Colorado Carbon Project
The project is a unified effort whose primary goal is to support research that explores the diverse issues associated with the carbon emitted and sequestered by golf courses in Colorado. Partners participating in the project include the Allied Golf Associations of Colorado, Colorado State University, the USDA-ARS, and Golfpreserves®.

To date, Golfpreserves has presented checks totaling $12,000 to the Golf Foundation of Colorado earmarked for carbon dynamics on Golf courses in Colorado.

Golf Preserves

Carbon Certificate
The Golfpreserves® Carbon Certificate represents the known and verified tons of CO2 equivalent that has been sequestered in the soil at a specific site from turf grass operations from the year of determination. The object of this certificate is to document the carbon sequestered so that it may be maintained there, and the value from it translated into research to improve the sequestration in the future and lessen the emissions from all emitting sources at the golf facility. The use of this certificate by the owner is to be made by determination of the owner. The goodwill created by the sequestration, the development of the ecosystem value of the sequestered carbon, the maintenance of the program, and the research derived from the project, are all good benefits of the investment in the certificates.

A Coalition for Good - Spreading the Seeds of Sustainability

ISC-Audubon is a coalition of non-profit organizations and initiatives that include The International Sustainability Council (ISC), Audubon Lifestyles, Audubon Outdoors, Planit Green, Broadcast Audubon, and the Audubon Network for Sustainability.

Funds generated through memberships and donations are used to provide fruit & vegetable seeds, wildflower seed mix, and wildlife feed & birdseed to urban and suburban communities around the world. These seeds are used by communities to establish fruit and vegetable gardens, bird and wildlife sanctuaries, and for the beautification of urban and suburban landscapes by creating flower and native plant gardens.
